Deutsch: (Ein erhaltenes Exemplar von Stefan Zweigs Buch „Amok“) Die Bundestagsfraktion DIE LINKE lud auch in diesem Jahr zum Lesen gegen das Vergessen auf den Berliner Bebelplatz. Damit soll an die Bücherverbrennung von 1933 und den Umgang der Nationalsozialisten mit Andersdenkenden erinnert werden. Die Werke der Autoren, deren Bücher verbrannt wurden, kann man neu auflegen, die verbrannten Menschen bleiben verloren.
English: The remains of a copy of a book of Stefan Zweig, the novel Amok (1922), partially burned during the Bücherverbrennungen (the Nazi book burnings) promoted by National Socialists during the 1930s |
